They usually breed in April and May. Common snow trout has great commercial and cultural values to the local communities. They are much sought after as a consumption fish. However, their population is threatened by a number of factors including over fishing, pollution, the damming of rivers and the introduction of exotic fish, particularly salmonids and the population is declining.
